Restore Your Bite in Just One Appointment with the All-on-4® Technique
If you need dentures, you want the most stable and lifelike restorations available. Despite the advantages of implant-supported dentures, you might not be a good candidate for traditional implants or you might be hesitant to wait to receive a restoration. Fortunately, Dr. Joseph D. Murray and Dr. William Alexander can place dental implants using the All-on-4® technique, restoring function and aesthetics to your smile in just one appointment. And because this treatment option uses smaller implant posts, it may also be suitable if you have a diminished jawbone structure. To learn more about the All-on-4® technique, schedule an appointment at East Point's J.D. Murray DDS & Associates today.
The All-on-4® Technique
All-on-4® is an advanced method of implant placement for permanent dentures. Traditional implant-supported dentures typically require six to eight implant posts per dental arch. The All-on-4® technique uses just four posts, set at a slight angle. These implants also have a much smaller diameter. Thanks to this innovative placement, All-on-4® creates a strong foundation for a denture. However, it involves minimal impact to the surrounding gums and jawbone.
The Placement Process
After determining that you are a candidate for the All-on-4® method, Dr. Murray or Dr. Alexander will thoroughly examine your oral structure to determine the optimal placement for your implant posts. For the most precise positioning, he will use our cone beam imaging system. This state-of-the-art device will provide an accurate, 3-D representation of your mouth.
Once he has numbed the treatment area, your dentist will make four tiny incisions in your gums. Through these incisions, he will place the implant posts in your jawbone. With traditional implants, you would typically need to wait several months before you could receive your restoration. Thanks to All-on-4®’s precise techniques, you will leave the office with a full set of beautiful, lifelike artificial teeth. It will take about six months for your gums to heal fully. At this time, you will return to the office, and we will provide a permanent denture. With proper care, this restoration can last for years to come.
The All-on-4® method offers tremendous advantages, which is why we are proud to offer this state-of-the-art treatment. Benefits include:
- Convenient: Since you will receive a fully functional restoration on the same day, you will not have to worry about following a restricted diet during recovery. Perhaps more significantly, you will no longer suffer from the appearance of missing teeth.
- Fewer Procedures: The implant posts used with the All-on-4® technique are much smaller than traditional implants. This means you may be a candidate for this treatment, even if you have a diminished jaw structure. Many patients can undergo this type of implant placement without prior bone grafting or sinus lift surgeries.
- Faster Recovery: Thanks to the smaller size and fewer number of implant posts, you will experience minimal post-treatment inflammation and a reduced recovery time.
- Lifelike Appearance: Like all of our dental restorations, our implant-supported dentures are customized to complement your smile. Because this type of denture sits directly against your gums, your restoration will be virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.
