Choose From a Range of Durable, Lifelike Dentures

In the last few decades, the field of restorative dentistry has improved tremendously. Perhaps the most noticeable area of progress is in the fabrication of dentures. Today’s restorations are more lifelike and comfortable than ever before. Additionally, patients can choose from many types of dentures. At J.D. Murray DDS & Associates, we offer a range of dentures, including implant-supported and the renowned Prettau® Implant Bridge. During a thorough consultation, Dr. Joseph D. Murray or Dr. William Alexander will discuss your treatment goals, condition, and budget to help you determine the best type of dentures for your needs. Contact our East Point practice today to book your first appointment.

To meet the unique needs of our patients, we offer a variety of dentures, including traditional, implant-supported, and the Prettau implant bridge.

Traditional Dentures

Traditional dentures can be full or partial restorations. Full dentures replace an entire arch of missing teeth. Partial dentures, also known as removable bridges, are designed to replace several adjacent teeth. This type of restoration clips onto the adjoining teeth with small, carefully concealed metal clasps. Both full and partial dentures have a gum-colored plastic base. This material will be hand selected to match the color of your soft tissue, meaning your denture will blend seamlessly with your smile. Dr. Murray or Dr. Alexander will take impressions and precise measurements of your mouth. This careful planning will ensure that your denture fits snugly and comfortably around your gums.

Implant-Supported Dentures

For maximum stability, you may want to consider implant-supported dentures. These restorations attach to permanent implant posts, which are surgically placed directly in your jawbone. Implant-supported dentures will never slip out of place, and they can protect your oral health by preventing the jawbone recession that accompanies tooth loss. Typically, our dentists use the All-on-4® method to place a full implant-supported denture. With this technique, your doctor will use four smaller posts, set at angle, to support the restoration. The smaller posts minimize impact to your surrounding tissues, reducing recovery time, post-surgical discomfort, and inflammation. This restorative option can also enable you to receive an implant-supported denture, even if you have suffered previous jawbone recession.

Prettau® Implant Bridge

The Prettau® Implant Bridge is widely considered to be the most advanced and natural-looking type of denture. Although it is referred to as a bridge, this restoration is actually an implant-supported full denture. Typically, your dentist will place five to eight implant posts to support the bridge. Prettau® bridges are made of state-of-the-art zirconia. This type of dental porcelain is nearly as strong as metal or natural dental material. Additionally, it has an innovative microstructure, giving it a sheen and translucence that is nearly indistinguishable from your own enamel. Like other types of implant-supported restorations, Prettau® bridges will never slip out of place and they help protect your overall oral and jawbone health.
